Technique Experimentation

Before:
After:

What I did:
To this create this image, I first of all used the brush tool to create veins on the women's face I made them look more realistic by using it as an overlay and dropping the opacity. I then used the burn tool to darken the outlines of her face and eyes, I also used the brush tool as an overlay to add to yellow tinge to it. I then took an image of a skull and magic wand tooled it out because it had a plain background so it was easier to select and delete. I then used the woman face to use as a overlay on the skull rubbing out the bits of the skull that look unrealistic. After that I used the liquify filter to change the mouth size of the woman so I could add some teeth, then I got an image of a man and pen tooled his teeth out, to get a more precise cut and added them to the image, finally I rubbed out the parts of the teeth that look unrealistic and used the brush tool on a dark yellow as an overlay to make the teeth look rotten.

What I did:
To create this, I cut out the sky using the pen tool first of all, because I found it I could get a more precise cut as I was doing the cutting unlike the magnet lasso where it automatically tries create the path you want. I then took an image of a plane from the internet and magic wand tooled it out and scaled it down and place it into the image using the rotate and distort tool to make it look as though it should be there, I used the magic wand because the background of the plane was white and it select all the white and delete it. I then created a new image of smoke and used gradients to make it look more realistic and give it a fire touch, I then transferred it over to my main image and resized it to make look as though it should be there and emphasize the plane crashing. After that i took and image of a smashed building  and pen tooled it out and used it as a overlay on one of the buildings within my image to make it look as though its destroyed. Penultimately I took another image of a plane that had crashed pen tooled it out added to my image changing the perspective of it and adding shadows to make it look as though it had crashed in the middle of the street. Finally to give the image a sense of depth I lowered the saturation and brightness.

Flag Design:

What I Did:
First of all I created a new Photoshop document making it 1000px by 667px. I then used the rectangle marquee tool to mark out three rectangles, I then used the paint bucket tool to colour them white and red and using the custom shape tool to put the sign in the middle. After I had done this I took a picture of a curtain and used the displace tool to make the colours wavy, then I used the same curtain image on multiply to give the flag a more realistic effect.

Text Tool Experimentation:
This is a print screen of me creating and work path and typing the text inside and outside the work path:

This is me experimenting with the warp text tool:

I then experimented with selecting text and changing the colour with the brush and paint bucket tool:

Gradient Experimentation:

Here I used the gradient tool to create different background blends:

I then used the Fx panel to create a gradient overlay to see what makes the best gradients out of the two ways of doing it:
